Here’s a really interesting idea to change the shape of crowdfunding: quadratic funding.
It uses maths to analyse campaign funding. Not all donations are equal: many small donors are better than one large donor, because that’s a more accurate assessment of what the community really wants and needs. Preference is given to funding campaigns with a broader base of civic support: and the quadratic maths calculates that for us.
And then we can even let the (unquadratrically) elected politicians know which campaign/initiative they should support.
